slant school is a lifelong artistic-pedagogic project by Carissa Pobre that organizes experiments toward new forms of study. In conversation with autonomous forms of study and artist-run programs and projects, where one actively resists the objectification of an intellectual, creative process into a commodity, it is an embodied methodology borne of a critique of the power dynamics of institutionality, inclining toward decoloniality within knowledge production and cultural production; and the political imperative to study the complexities in class formation and intellectual life in the postcolonial South. It also suggests by way of this methodology that models of decoloniality in knowledge production and cultural production must fully embody their institutional and social critique in holding their tensions.
